Churn out time for yourself once a while. Find ways to relax relieve tension and minimize stress. Once you are charged up, it will benefit both work and family life.
Spend quality time with your family and give them your undiverted attention. Develop family rituals you can all look forward to.
Be flexible. Be ready and willing to assume responsibility for any of the tasks that need to get done at any time. Never get too comfortable, because as soon as you seem to get things under control, they change.
Build yourself a support network and do not hesitate to ask for help. Get your children involved and teach them the art of working together as a team. Be prepared for surprises with backup and emergency plans. Also always have a contingency.
Let go of guilt and stop dwelling on the past. Everyone makes mistakes and juggling between work and family life is not easy. Hence, you are allowed to let go off the occasional boo-boos you make. Introduce logic to help counterbalance the guilt.
