After social media websites, single people who are looking to date like-minded and career-oriented people, are now searching for partners by screening resumes on business social networking sites! This trend, called CV Dating, is all about getting young professionals together based on their education qualifications, job profiles and career compatibility.
Clinical psychologist Shefali Gupta weighs the pros of this trend over other dating websites. "Unlike dating apps and sites, where you don't know if the person has put up real facts and pictures of themselves, to an extent, CV Dating ensures that you have all the correct information at hand, so that you know what you are getting into. After all, business networking sites have all the information about a person's education, job history, skills, languages they speak and even their hobbies." Much like visiting a match-making site, this is a time-saver for busy professionals."
According to city youngsters, matching people based on their resumes might sound clinical, but it certainly isn't a bad idea. Media professional Arijit Ghosh says, "I don't have a typical 9 to 5 job and my work timings are highly erratic. I think looking out on such platforms will be a great option, as I might find someone in the same field, who will understand the challenges and make my life easier."
Chantele D'souza, who works in an advertising agency, adds, "I am highly ambitious and driven, and want to achieve certain career goals. All of these reflect in the resume, which I have put up online. I hope to attract someone with similar aspirations, so that I don't waste precious time screening people."
